Mr. Yahaya Ibrahimu completed his BSc. in Telecommunications Engineering degree in 2015 from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM). He is a tutorial assistant in the department of Social Sciences and ICT, Mizengo Pinda Campus College (MPCC) at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). He joined the college in May 2021 and he is involving in teaching Computer Application in Tour Guiding and Hunting operations for Certificate students in Tour Guiding and Hunting operations, Application of ICT in Agriculture for Diploma students in Crop production and Management, and assisting in teaching Computer Applications for Bachelor Of Science In Bee Resources Management students.

Mr. Yahaya Ibrahimu completed his BSc. in Telecommunications Engineering degree in 2015 from the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), and thereafter he was employed by Infinity communications limited, an out source company for Huawei Tanzania, a Telecommunication company in Dar es Salaam where he worked as a Junior transmission engineer specializing in installation, commissioning, provision acceptance test, network configuration and service provisioning of Huawei-RTN 900 series, Optical switching node installation, commissioning and maintenance, Microwave links survey and collecting documentation for technical site survey report, Configuring the new microwave links according to the plan and SDH/PDH service configuration (2015 – 2016).

Before joining the MPCC, Mr. Yahaya Ibrahimu worked as ICT Officer II (Network Administrator) at Mbulu Town Council in Manyara region from 2019 to 2021 where he gained experience in designing, installation and configuration of  LAN and WAN infrastructure, test network equipment and devices, implementing network security guidelines, performing network trouble shooting and repair, preparation of  technical and user documentations, maintaining the strict confidentiality of all records, documents, and data stored in the assigned systems and infrastructure, implementing disaster recovery in accordance with the ICT Business Continuity Plan, monitoring performance, capacity, and availability of the network on an Ongoing basis and recommend improvements in technologies and Practices.

Research Projects

Currently he is a member of the research team for ongoing research under SUARIS entitled

“Towards Breeding for Fall Armyworm Resistant Maize Varieties: A Deep Learning Computer Model for Accelerating the Selection Cycle.” His roles in this research  is  model development, testing, and
validation.
