Youth Should Embrace Entrepreneurship Opportunities – RC Mrindoko

Katavi Regional Commissioner, Hon. Mwanamvua Mrindoko, has encouraged young people, particularly graduates from higher learning institutions, to take advantage of existing entrepreneurial opportunities for self-employment and economic empowerment.

Hon. Mrindoko made these remarks during her visit to the exhibition booth of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) – Mizengo Pinda Campus, as part of activities marking National Education Week hosted by the National Education Network, which is taking place at Majimoto Primary School grounds in Katavi Region.

During her visit, the Regional Commissioner interacted with various exhibitors, notably Mr. Dwasi Denis Johnson, a graduate of Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) – Mizengo Pinda Campus holding a bachelor’s degree in BSc. Bee Resource Management. Mr. Dwasi has successfully established a beekeeping and bee products business, in partnership with the Mpimbwe Agroforestry Services Initiative (MASI), creating employment opportunities while promoting environmental conservation through sustainable agricultural practices.

Hon. Mrindoko congratulates Mr. Dwasi’s initiative and urged other graduates and young entrepreneurs to follow suit by tapping into similar innovative business ventures. She emphasized that self-employment initiatives such as these not only help address unemployment but also significantly contribute to the growth and development of the local economy.

She also reaffirmed the regional government’s commitment to supporting youth entrepreneurship through creating a conducive environment, providing necessary guidance, and linking them to relevant financial and technical resources to ensure sustainable business growth.

The event, which attracted several academic institutions, government officials, business communities, and local residents, serves as an essential platform for showcasing educational advancements, entrepreneurial innovations, and promoting collaborations aimed at driving socioeconomic progress in the region and nation.
